Roy Orbison lived a fairly tragic life

I’m a native Minnesotan, audio producer and freelance writer. In New York I was the editor of Brooklyn Magazine. In Los Angeles I eked my way into podcasting just before the podcast boom. I started as an intern at Neon Hum, now Sony Music Podcasts. Today I’m the executive producer of audio at Higher Ground, Barack and Michelle Obama’s media company. I currently produce IMO, the weekly podcast hosted by Michelle Obama and her brother Craig Robinson, and oversee the slate of Higher Ground’s weekly podcasts. I studied classics at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD and journalism and French studies at NYU. I now live in Ventura, CA, an often overlooked beach town north of LA. I hang out here in a quiet house with my baby daughter and partner. Most people live here to surf, but I just like looking at the mountains and ocean and running near both of those things. I also watch too much streaming TV, including tennis, which I’m already forcing my infant to watch with me so I can take her to the real thing one day without her complaining about it.
